The cuix file extension is used by Autodesk AutoCAD, a 3D computer-aided design and manufacturing application for Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS.
A cuix file contains AutoCAD user interface customizations, such as workspaces, menus, toolbars, ribbon panels, keyboard shortcuts, and related settings. AutoCAD uses these files to load a standard or user-defined interface configuration.
AutoCAD can use a main customization file together with additional partial customization files. CUIx remains AutoCAD's native format for storing and exchanging custom user interface configurations.
Open cuix files in AutoCAD on Windows or macOS. Start AutoCAD, enter the CUI command, and use the Customize User Interface editor to load or manage the file.
A CUIx file is a customization resource rather than a drawing, so it is not normally opened as a standalone document.
A cuix file cannot be meaningfully converted to a drawing or another general-purpose file format. Its contents are AutoCAD interface settings, not design data.
To move or reuse the customizations, load the file in AutoCAD and use AutoCAD's customization tools to transfer or save the interface configuration as another CUIx file.
