Netscape Navigator history file
File type: Internet related file
A .dbmg file is a history file used by Netscape Navigator for Microsoft Windows.
It contains information about web pages visited with the browser and is intended for use as browser data rather than as a user document.
File type category:
Internet related file

Netscape Navigator, developed by Netscape, used DBMG files to retain web browsing history on Microsoft Windows. The file may contain records associated with pages visited in the browser.
The file belongs to Navigator's internal browsing data and is not a saved web page or a general-purpose database. Navigator used it together with its other browser files to provide access to previously visited pages.
Netscape Navigator is discontinued, so the DBMG format is a legacy format and is no longer used by current web browsers.
On Microsoft Windows, try opening the file with the copy of Netscape Navigator that created it. It normally needs to remain in Navigator's data location so that the browser can read it; it is not intended to be opened as a standalone document.
Netscape Navigator may not run on current versions of Windows. A text editor or modern web browser will not normally display the history in a useful form.
If the file can still be read by a compatible copy of Netscape Navigator, the history may be reviewed there, but it cannot normally be converted directly into a current browser's history format.
