DigitalMugician was audio editing and music composing software for Amiga computers developed by Commodore. A DigitalMugician module stores four voices and music patterns used to play the composition.
DigitalMugician is an obsolete product. On Windows, compatible Amiga software can be run through Amiga Forever.
To open a .dmu file, run DigitalMugician in an Amiga environment. On Windows, Amiga Forever can provide an emulated Amiga environment, but the DigitalMugician program itself is also required to load the module.
The file is not intended to open as a document in a regular Windows audio player.
Open the file in DigitalMugician and record its playback to create a common audio file such as WAV.
That process produces a recording of the module rather than a fully editable conversion of its patterns and voices.

IBM Cognos Deployment Manager is an administration tool for packaging and deploying Cognos business intelligence data. A DMU file records the unpack settings used during that process.
IBM Cognos Deployment Manager is associated with IBM Cognos software on Microsoft Windows.
Open the DMU file with IBM Cognos Deployment Manager on Microsoft Windows. The software uses the file as part of its unpacking workflow.
Because it is a settings file, it is not normally opened as a document in a text editor or another general-purpose application.
A DMU file does not have a meaningful general-purpose conversion target. It contains Deployment Manager unpack settings rather than user data in a format intended for export.
Use IBM Cognos Deployment Manager to apply or recreate the settings when preparing a deployment package. Renaming the file extension does not convert it.
