Virtual Woman digital DNA data
File type: Various data file
A dna file contains digital DNA data for the Virtual Woman software.
It stores a downloadable Virtual Woman or Virtual Man that can be used in Virtual Woman.
Found 6 different file type records with the same dna filename suffix.

Virtual Woman digital DNA files store complete information about a virtual woman or man. The file can be downloaded and used by the Virtual Woman software on Microsoft Windows.
The data may include the character's appearance, background, history and clothing. It can also contain information about the current location and the background sounds associated with that location.
The dna file format is licensed from Harrington International.
Open a dna file with Virtual Woman on Microsoft Windows. The file is intended to be loaded by that software rather than opened as a document in a general-purpose application.

BioPerl is a community-developed collection of Perl code for biology. It provides objects for sequences, alignments, database searches, annotations and sequence features, which can be combined in a coordinated and extensible framework for computational biology.
A BioPerl DNA file stores nucleotide sequence data that BioPerl programs can read and process. Sequence objects can be used to create alignment objects, access annotation and sequence-feature data and work with databases. Results from database searches such as BLAST can also be converted into alignment objects.
BioPerl development focuses on reusable Perl classes and code representing biological entities rather than on standalone applications. The distribution also includes scripts and examples, while the classes provide the main framework for building websites and job-specific biology applications. BioPerl runs wherever Perl and its required modules are available, including common Unix-like systems and Windows.
A DNA file is normally a text file, so a text editor can display its sequence and any accompanying text. To process it, use a Perl script with BioPerl's Bio::SeqIO module and specify the sequence format used inside the file.
BioPerl is a programming toolkit rather than a dedicated graphical DNA-file viewer. Install Perl and BioPerl on the required platform, then open the file through a BioPerl script. The .dna suffix alone does not identify the internal sequence format.
BioPerl can read and write several biological sequence formats through Bio::SeqIO. A Perl script can therefore read the DNA file in its actual input format and write it as another supported format, such as FASTA, GenBank or EMBL.
Conversion is possible only when BioPerl can identify the sequence notation and the source contains the information required by the destination format. A file containing only raw nucleotide characters may not provide annotations or other metadata to export.
