Edoc files are a type of electronically certified document popular in Baltic countries, especially Latvia.
EDOC format is actually a wrapper (package) for one of the common document formats, such as DOC, PDF or XML, with additional metadata and a digital signature.
Most EDOC files come from Latvia, and the eParaksts tool is a popular way to digitally sign your content via mobile app.
Note: Some electronically certified documents are written in the Erlang programming language. But this is a completely unrelated file type.
eParaksts can be used to read .edoc files. In the past EUSO SignAnywhere worked as well, but it is no longer offcially available for download.
