MPE Encoder produces epm files as encrypted portable media files associated with Destiny Media Technologies.
The media in an epm file is both encoded and encrypted. Play MPE Player, developed by Destiny Media Technologies, provides playback for these files.
Play MPE Player runs on Microsoft Windows. The MIME type associated with the format is application/octet-stream.
On Microsoft Windows, use Play MPE Player to open an epm file. Because the file is encrypted, ordinary media players may not be able to read it.
An epm file cannot generally be converted to another format. Its encrypted contents require compatible Play MPE software, and standard video converters normally cannot process the file directly.
