File extension fdt was used for the default template format in earlier versions of Final Draft, a cross platform software for screen witters.
A typical .fdt file represents a template with predefined attributes and settings that was used to quickly create new scripts based on the it.
Replaced by fdtx format in version 8.
Only oldest versions of Final Draft can use these templates, modern version of the software no longer support it.
These templates could not be exported directly, but once applied to a new script, the resulting document could.
