If the file does not open, use an older compatible FileMaker Pro version to open it and convert or save it in a newer FileMaker format. Preserve a backup of the original file before conversion.
There is no need for a separate converter when a compatible version of FileMaker Pro can open the file. Open the database in FileMaker Pro and use its conversion or save options to create a database in a newer FileMaker format.
If only the records are required, FileMaker Pro can also export the data to a more widely supported format such as CSV. Exporting records does not preserve the original layouts, scripts, calculations, or other database design elements.
