BrainVoyager QX, developed by Brain Innovation, uses FMR files to define functional MRI projects. The file stores project information and settings needed to work with the functional dataset in BrainVoyager.
An FMR file is part of a BrainVoyager project rather than a general-purpose MRI exchange format. It can describe the dataset and its acquisition or processing parameters and may refer to associated functional-data files used by the project.
Because FMR files are plain text, their contents can be inspected manually, but BrainVoyager QX is required to interpret the project correctly. BrainVoyager QX is a multiplatform application, and the FMR format remains primarily intended for use within that software.
Open the .fmr file in BrainVoyager QX on a supported platform. The program can use the project information together with its associated functional-data files.
A text editor can display the plain-text contents, but it will not open the project as a functional MRI dataset or provide BrainVoyager's analysis tools.
There is no general-purpose conversion that turns an FMR project file into another MRI format. The file is a project description, so converting the text alone does not convert the functional measurements it describes.
To create data in another supported form, open the project in BrainVoyager QX and use the program's available processing or export functions. Keep the FMR file and its associated data files together if the project must remain usable.
