File extension frm is associated with MySQL, a popular relational database management system (RDBMS).
Every MySQL table is represented by MySQL database metadata file on disk as a frm file (also known as "Format" file).
A .frm file describes the table's format (table definition) including fields and structure of each table. The file has the same name as the table. FRM files are also important for MySQL database recovery.
MySQL database metadata files (.frm files) are related to MySQL database data files (myd and myi).
Old database system dBase was also using FRM file extension for one of its format. However, this format, known as dBase FRM report is in no way related to MySQL FRM format.
The *.frm files are used for internal purposes of MySQL database system.
These files contain just metadata, thus they are not meant to be converted anything else.

The frm file extension is associated with Corel Painter, a digital art graphic editing software, developed and sold by Corel Corporation.
An *.frm file contains saved frame stack, a series of frames together with their settings (color depth, resolution, size etc.).
The FRM file extension is also used for PhotoFrame picture format, and Megalux Frame image format. However, both formats are not related to Corel Painter FRM format.
Use Corel Painter to work with the *.frm files. Xnview can most likely view FRM format as well.
The *.frm files can be exported to either MOV or animated GIF format.

Extensible Forms Description Language was developed for complex business and government forms on the Web that need more than a simple collection of fields. An XFDL document can describe form structure and presentation, preserve entered data, and record details about transactions.
The format supports multiple overlapping digital signatures and auditable transaction records. When signatures and suitable certificate-management procedures are used, an XFDL form can provide non-repudiation for contractual forms.
PureEdge originally developed XFDL, and the technology was later supported by IBM Forms products. Privacy during transmission is normally provided by transport security such as HTTPS. XFDL includes facilities for signing form content, but it does not provide a built-in system for encrypting documents stored in a file system. The MIME type associated with XFDL is application/vnd.xfdl. Compatible IBM Forms software is legacy software, so support on current operating systems may be limited.
Open an .frm file with a compatible IBM Forms or PureEdge forms viewer or designer. These applications are legacy software and may require an older supported operating system or a separately maintained installation.
Because the file is XML-based, a text editor can display its source, but it will not render the interactive form or validate its signatures. Do not edit a signed document in a text editor, as changing its contents can invalidate the signatures.
There is no generally reliable conversion from XFDL to a standard document format because the form's layout, processing rules, data and signatures may not have direct equivalents. A compatible IBM Forms application may provide printing or export options for an individual form, but those options depend on the form and the installed software. Preserve the original file when its signatures or audit information are important.

The frm file extension is traditionally used for Forms. A form is usually a textual document with predefined boxed in which users fill certain information to finish it. Frequently used for various things, like ordering of some product, registration or marketing research.
Used by many applications although individual formats are usually not related. Can be either some sort of database or text based format.
Some forms can also be executables.
Forms in text format can be viewed in any text editor.
It is not possible to convert the frm extension files.
