The gml file extension is most likely best known for its use for the default format of a special, XML-based Geography Markup Language.
GML was defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) in 2000 to express geographical features.
Several GIS programs should be able to handle *.gml files.
Possibly can be transformed to other waypoint / GPS formats.

The gml file extension is associated with Girder, software for Microsoft Windows that automates system tasks.
A gml file stores a plugin for Girder. The plugin extends the software's automation features and is used as part of a Girder installation.
The file is intended to be used by Girder on Microsoft Windows and is not a general-purpose document format.
Open a gml file by installing or placing it according to the plugin instructions for the compatible version of Girder on Microsoft Windows. Girder loads the plugin as part of its plugin system.
A gml file is a Girder plugin, so it has no practical general-purpose conversion format.
To use the plugin with another Girder installation, copy or reinstall the original file in that installation rather than converting it.

Record marked as obsolete and not updated for a long time.
Graphlet Graphscript is a Tcl/Tk-based language for creating graph algorithms and graph-related user interfaces. A gml file can contain Graphscript code or data used by the Graphlet graph-editing environment.
Graphlet provides a scriptable, customizable graph editor. Graph drawing algorithms can be implemented in C++ with GTL, an STL-based library for programming with graphs, or in Graphscript.
Graphlet and Graphscript were designed as portable, extensible software and ran on several platforms. Both are obsolete and are no longer actively developed or supported.
Open the file with Graphlet Graphscript if a compatible installation is available. Graphlet can interpret the file as part of its graph-editing environment.
Because the software is obsolete, it may not be available for current operating systems. A plain-text editor can display or edit the file's script text, but it cannot run Graphscript code.
A file can be preserved as text, but converting it to another graph or scripting format requires interpreting its Graphscript content.
If Graphlet can open the file, any export facilities provided by that installation may be used to save the graph in a format it supports. The obsolete status of the software limits practical conversion options.
