The gpx file extension is used for the main file format of Guitar Pro since version 6.
The gpx file represents the default project format saved in the program. These files cannot be opened in previous versions of Guitar Pro. However, there are information that backward compatibility will be implemented in the future and Guitar Pro 6, will be able to save files in the GP5 file format.
