Cygwin provides a Unix-like command-line environment and tools for Microsoft Windows. Its documentation may be installed as GNU Info files in the Cygwin installation's documentation directories.
The info-3 file is the third split volume of an Info manual. It contains documentation nodes and navigation data rather than application settings or user-created content. The complete manual may also include an unnumbered .info file and additional numbered volumes.
Open the manual from a Cygwin terminal with the info command. The Info reader normally follows the numbered volumes as part of the complete manual, so the other files with the same base name should remain in the same directory.
The file can also be viewed in a Windows text editor, but that shows the stored documentation without the Info reader's links and navigation.
An info-3 file is a generated documentation volume and is not normally converted on its own. Keep it with the other volumes when moving or archiving the manual.
When the original Texinfo source is available, Texinfo tools can generate HTML, plain text, or other documentation formats from that source. The numbered Info volume itself generally does not provide a practical source for a lossless conversion.
