IVUE is a proprietary image format associated with Live Picture, a discontinued photo-editing application for Mac OS Classic and Mac OS 9.
An IVUE file contains a raster picture in multiple resolutions. This allowed Live Picture to work with and display images at different levels of detail.
The format is obsolete because Live Picture is no longer developed and current operating systems generally do not include native IVUE support.
Open the .ivue file with the original Live Picture software on a compatible Mac OS Classic system, including Mac OS 9.
Modern versions of macOS generally cannot open IVUE files directly. If Live Picture is unavailable, a compatible legacy Mac environment may be required before the image can be exported.
The practical way to convert an IVUE file is to open it in Live Picture and export or save a copy in a common raster image format supported by that version.
Without access to Live Picture or a compatible legacy Mac environment, conversion may not be possible.
