Easy CD Creator used JWL files to store the design of a CD label or jewel-case insert. A file can contain the layout and associated text or graphics used when preparing printed materials for a burned CD.
The format belongs to the CD and DVD authoring software distributed by Roxio. Its label and jewel-case design features were later available in the Roxio Creator product line, including Roxio Creator NXT.
JWL is an older, software-specific format. It may still be usable with compatible Roxio Creator versions on Microsoft Windows, but newer applications may not support it.
Open the file with Easy CD Creator or a compatible version of Roxio Creator on Microsoft Windows. In Roxio Creator, use the label or jewel-case design component to open the file.
If the file does not open, the installed version may no longer support this older format.
JWL files do not have a widely supported standalone conversion format. When a compatible version of Roxio Creator opens the file, use its available printing or export options to produce the required label or insert. Otherwise, the design must be recreated in another label or graphics application.

Record marked as obsolete and not updated for a long time.
Buzz was a modular music production and software synthesis application originally developed by Jeskola for Microsoft Windows. Its machines and supporting files used several specialised formats, including the Jacinth waveform library.
The jwl file stores a collection of waveforms that Buzz can use when working with Jacinth. It is a library resource rather than a general-purpose audio file such as a WAV recording.
The Jacinth waveform library format is obsolete and is no longer actively supported by its developer. It is therefore mainly encountered with older Buzz projects and installations.
Open a jwl file with a compatible installation of Buzz on Microsoft Windows. The file is intended to be loaded by Buzz as a Jacinth waveform library, not opened as a standalone recording.
Because the format is obsolete, a suitable older Buzz installation may be required. General-purpose audio players and editors normally cannot read this format.
A jwl file is a Buzz resource library, so it cannot be converted directly to a standard audio recording in the same way as a WAV file.
If Buzz can load the library, the resulting music or instrument output can be rendered from Buzz to an audio format supported by that installation. This preserves the produced sound, not the editable Jacinth library itself.
