KDevelop project file
File type: Source code and script file
A .kdevprj file is a project file used by KDevelop, an integrated development environment from the KDE project.
It stores information needed to open and manage a KDevelop software project, rather than the project's source code itself.

A KDevelop project file contains project metadata and configuration, such as information about the files and directories belonging to the project and settings used by the development environment. KDevelop uses this information when loading the project.
The .kdevprj format is associated mainly with older KDevelop releases. Newer releases use different project configuration formats, so a current version of KDevelop may not open every .kdevprj file directly. KDevelop is available for Microsoft Windows as well as other platforms, although support for this legacy format can vary between releases.
Open a .kdevprj file with a compatible version of KDevelop. In KDevelop, use the command for opening or importing an existing project and select the project file or its containing directory.
If a current KDevelop release does not recognize the file, use an older compatible release or recreate the project in the current version after locating its source files.
Open the project with a compatible version of KDevelop and save or recreate it in the project format supported by the target release.
This changes the project configuration; the source files remain separate and are not converted by changing the project file.
