The Kestrel sequence ID file is a supporting data file for the Sequence Alignment and Modeling system. Its identifiers refer to sequences stored in a related .kseq or .krseq file.
The identifiers are kept in sequence order, allowing the software to associate each identifier with the corresponding sequence. The file is intended to be used together with the sequence data rather than as a standalone sequence file.
The Sequence Alignment and Modeling system runs on Linux and Unix.
Open a .kids file with the Sequence Alignment and Modeling system on Linux or Unix. Keep the related .kseq or .krseq file available, because the ID file contains identifiers rather than the sequence data itself.
A .kids file is an auxiliary identifier list and has no useful standalone conversion to a general sequence format. Conversion or export of the associated sequence data should be handled by the Sequence Alignment and Modeling system.
