MessengerDiscovery was a Microsoft Windows add-on for Microsoft Live Messenger. It provided extra features such as webcam recording, protection tools and contact management.
The MD2S file extension identifies data used internally by the MessengerDiscovery add-on. The file may support the add-on's operation, but its exact contents depend on how MessengerDiscovery uses it.
Because Microsoft Live Messenger is discontinued, MD2S files are associated with legacy installations and are unlikely to be used by current messaging software.
On Microsoft Windows, an MD2S file is used internally by MessengerDiscovery in the location where the add-on expects its data files. It is not designed to be opened manually.
If MessengerDiscovery is not installed, there may be no supported program available to open the file. Do not edit or rename it, as this could prevent the legacy add-on from using its data.
MD2S files are internal MessengerDiscovery data files and are not intended for conversion to another format.
Keep the file in its original form if it is still needed by a legacy installation. Any conversion or manual editing could make it unusable.
