Apple Guide was an interactive help system developed by Apple for classic Macintosh computers. Applications could use it to provide contextual help and guided instructions.
A MIXN file stores an addition to an Apple Guide help system. It was intended to work with the other files and resources used by Apple Guide, rather than to be edited as a standalone document.
Apple Guide and the MIXN format are obsolete and are not normally used on current macOS systems.
A MIXN file is normally opened by Apple Guide as part of a compatible classic Macintosh application or help system. It is not generally intended to be opened directly.
Because Apple Guide is obsolete, current macOS versions do not provide normal support for this file. A compatible classic Macintosh environment and the application or guide that uses the file may be required.
MIXN is not a conventional document format with a standard export workflow. Its contents may need to be accessed in a compatible classic Macintosh environment and recreated in a modern help or documentation format.
