Adobe Director was multimedia authoring software for creating interactive presentations, animations and applications. An MV95 file contains a Director movie's authoring data, including timing information, scripts and multimedia content or references to that content.
The MV95 file extension identifies a Mac version 5 form of the Director movie format. The default Adobe Director movie file extension is dir.
Adobe Director was available for Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS or Mac OS X. MV95 is a legacy, version-specific format and is no longer common in current multimedia projects.
Open an MV95 file with a compatible installation of Adobe Director for Mac, preferably in the older Mac environment for which the movie was created. Modern macOS versions may not run this legacy software.
Adobe Director for Windows may open some Director movies, but a Mac version 5 MV95 file may not be fully compatible. If the file does not open, an older supported environment and the original Director application may be required.
If a compatible version of Adobe Director opens the file, it may be possible to save or update the movie to a later Director format.
Because Director movies can contain interactive behavior, exporting one to a standard video format may not preserve its scripts or interactivity. Preserve the original file and export its media or presentation from Director where appropriate.
