OpenTTD is an open-source reimplementation of the Transport Tycoon Deluxe game. It runs on Microsoft Windows and other platforms.
The obg file contains metadata and file information for an OpenTTD base graphics set. The graphics themselves are normally stored in an accompanying GRF file, while the OBG file allows OpenTTD to identify and load the base set.
OpenTTD reads an obg file when it is installed with its associated base graphics files in the game's baseset folder. The base graphics set can then be selected in OpenTTD.
An OBG file can also be opened in a plain-text editor to inspect its metadata, but it is not an image file and cannot be viewed as graphics independently.
An obg file is a base graphics set descriptor, not a graphics image, so it does not have a useful general-purpose conversion format. To use different graphics, install another OpenTTD base graphics set rather than convert the OBG file.
