File extension oir is used for the default digital RAW image recorded using Olympus digital microscopes, for example the Olympus FV3000 series of confocal laser scanning microscopes. OIR is probably abbreviation for 'Olympus Image Raw'.
A typical .oir file represents digital RAW image along with all special metadata recorded by the device. The file size is limited to 1GB.
Specialized tools, such as Bio-Formats are your best option if you do not have access to the Olympus software.
Export to standard graphics formats is most likely doable, but all unique data will be lost.
