Record marked as obsolete and not updated for a long time.
The OPA file extension belongs to Psion's OPL (Organiser Programming Language) environment. Psion Series 3 devices used the SIBO operating system, which is distinct from the later Symbian and EPOC systems.
An OPA file stores OPL object data used by an OPL program. It is part of the software produced for the Psion Series 3 platform rather than a general-purpose document format.
Psion Series 3 devices and their SIBO software are obsolete, so OPA files are rarely encountered and are not generally supported by modern desktop applications.
Use the file with a Psion Series 3 or another compatible SIBO environment and its OPL software. An OPA file is not normally readable as a document in Windows, macOS or Linux applications.
If the file came from an old Psion application, transfer it back to compatible Psion hardware or a suitable SIBO environment rather than trying to open it with a modern file viewer.
There is no generally available modern conversion format for a Psion OPL object file. If the original OPL source is available, it can be edited and rebuilt for a compatible Psion environment; an OPA file by itself normally cannot be converted into the original source.
