OziExplorer, developed by Des Newman, uses ozfx3 files for map images. The format is designed to store map raster data in a form that OziExplorer can display and use for GPS navigation and mapping.
An ozfx3 file normally works with the associated OziExplorer map calibration information, which allows the image to be aligned with geographic coordinates. OziExplorer supports GPS receivers from manufacturers including Magellan, Garmin, Lowrance, Eagle, Brunton/Silva and MLR.
OziExplorer is available for Microsoft Windows.
Open the file in OziExplorer on Microsoft Windows. Use the associated OziExplorer map calibration file when prompted or when loading the map, so that the image is positioned correctly on the map.
To create an ozfx3 map image from an original raster map image, use OziExplorer's Img2Ozf utility together with the map's calibration data.
Converting the ozfx3 file alone may not preserve the map calibration information. OziExplorer can use the resulting image together with its calibration data.
