The pbq file format is associated with PunkBuster, anti-cheat software developed by Even Balance, Inc. for Microsoft Windows.
A pbq file stores a query script used by PunkBuster. The script supplies queries or related instructions that PunkBuster can process as part of its operation.
PunkBuster uses pbq files internally on Microsoft Windows. To inspect one, open a copy in a text editor; changing its contents may prevent PunkBuster from processing the script correctly.
The file is not normally opened as a standalone document. PunkBuster should load it when the corresponding software or game component requires it.
A pbq file is a PunkBuster script, so it has no useful general-purpose conversion format. Keep it in its original form for use with PunkBuster.
If the goal is to examine or modify the script, use a text editor rather than a conversion tool. Preserve the original file as a backup before making changes.
