The PMW file extension identifies the proprietary spreadsheet format used by PlanMaker 97. A PMW file can contain worksheet data, formulas, and cell formatting for use in the application.
PlanMaker is developed by SoftMaker and is available for Microsoft Windows as part of SoftMaker Office and as a standalone application. PMW is a legacy PlanMaker format, although current versions of PlanMaker and compatible office suites may still provide support for opening it.
On Microsoft Windows, open a PMW file with PlanMaker, SoftMaker Office, or Ashampoo Office. PlanMaker Viewer can be used when the file only needs to be viewed.
If the file does not open by double-clicking, start the spreadsheet application first and use its Open command to select the PMW file.
Open the PMW file in PlanMaker, SoftMaker Office, or another compatible office suite and use Save As or Export to create an Excel-compatible spreadsheet file. This is usually the most practical way to move the data to a newer format.
Exporting to CSV can preserve basic tabular data, but it does not retain the workbook's formatting and may not preserve formulas. The original PMW file should be kept if those features are needed.
