The pt file extension is related to the Pop!site and used for its HTML files.
Pop!site is an HTML macro-scripting tool, which uses a language called pop!talk. In pop!talk, one defines custom tags which look much like HTML tags, and which in fact use the same syntax as HTML, but can also include conditionals and other quasi-programming aspects.
These tags can encapsulate large amounts of HTML code themselves as well as any text or other media one wishes to include in a repeatable manner. Thus, once one has laid out a design for a page, one can "capture" that HTML in a tag or tags for instant re-use.
