PiXCL provides more than 800 commands and operations for imaging and application development. The language is strongly typed and supports String, Integer, Integer64, Float and Double variables, as well as one-dimensional arrays. The type is implicit in the variable name.
PiXCL assigns memory when a variable is first used and generally handles memory deallocation automatically through garbage collection. Images in the PiXCL internal image list are an exception: bitmaps loaded or displayed by a PiXCL application remain in process memory until the program releases them or the application exits.
Image-processing functions are implemented as fast compiled code in DLLs. PiXCLscript was an early variant of the PiXCL Imaging language and is not currently supported.
Open the PXL file with PiXCL on Microsoft Windows to interpret or test the source code. Because it is a source-code file, it can also be viewed as text, but a text editor will not execute the PiXCL program.
PXL files contain PiXCL source code and are intended to be interpreted by PiXCL. No standard conversion to another format is specified.
