Quicken, developed by Intuit, used QPH files in older versions of its personal finance software. The files contain historical prices for investments held in a Quicken account, including prices downloaded from a financial service or entered manually.
In older Quicken data folders, the QPH file was part of a group of five files with the same base name. The main file used the qdf and contained account information and transactions. Related files could include QEL, QPH, QSD and QTX files. Quicken maintained these supporting files automatically, and could recreate them when the associated qdf was opened. These additional files could also be deleted, after which Quicken would recreate them.
Quicken was available for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X, including Quicken Essentials for Mac. Separate QPH files are a legacy feature: Quicken 2010 no longer used them as separate supporting files, because the related information was incorporated into the Quicken data file with the qdf
Example: QDATA.QPH
QPH files were used by older versions of Quicken, primarily on Microsoft Windows. They are supporting files and are not normally intended to be opened or viewed on their own.
Open the associated Quicken data file, usually the file with the QDF extension, in a compatible version of Quicken. Current Quicken releases may not open or use a separate QPH file, and support in Quicken Essentials for Mac is version-dependent.
There is no known standalone converter for the QPH format. A QPH file should be handled as part of its associated Quicken data set rather than converted separately.
When supported, an older version of Quicken can open the associated data file and transfer or upgrade the data to a newer Quicken format. Keep the QPH file with the other files from the same data set during that process.
