Netwide Assembler file
File type: Source code and script file
The .rdoff file extension identifies a relocatable object file produced by Netwide Assembler (NASM).
The file contains assembled machine code together with symbol and relocation information for further processing by a linker or RDOFF tool.

RDOFF, short for Relocatable Dynamic Object File Format, is an object format associated with Netwide Assembler (NASM), an open-source assembler for assembly-language programs. It was used by older NASM releases as an intermediate output format.
An RDOFF file can contain code and data sections, symbol information, relocation records, and other records required to link or load the assembled program. It is not an assembly-language source file and is normally used as one part of a build process.
RDOFF is now a legacy NASM format and is not commonly used in current assembler toolchains. Support may therefore depend on the particular NASM release and its accompanying utilities.
Use the RDOFF utilities included with a compatible older NASM distribution to inspect or process this file. The rdfdump utility can display information about an RDOFF file, while a compatible RDOFF linker can use it as an object file.
A standard text editor will not display the file as readable assembly source because RDOFF is an assembled object format.
RDOFF files do not have a useful general-purpose conversion to assembly source. If the original source is available, reassemble it with NASM and select an object format supported by the intended linker or platform.
Where the required legacy tools are available, an RDOFF linker or related utility can link the file or produce a binary output for a compatible target. The result depends on the file's unresolved symbols and its associated object files.
