Borland Reflex was a database application developed for the MS-DOS operating system. Its RX files provided database-driver support for the application and were used as part of its database environment.
RX files are system or support files rather than standalone databases intended for general-purpose viewing. They belong with the related Reflex installation and database files.
Reflex is obsolete and is no longer supported by Borland. The format is therefore mainly encountered when maintaining or recovering data from older MS-DOS systems.
Open an RX file with the Borland Reflex software that created it, running in a compatible MS-DOS environment or an appropriately configured DOS emulator. It is a driver file, so Reflex normally uses it as part of the database system rather than opening it as a document.
Modern database and office applications generally cannot open RX files directly.
An RX database-driver file does not normally have a useful standalone conversion format. Keep it with the Reflex installation and associated database files if the old database must remain usable.
For migration, open the database in Reflex and export its records to a format supported by the available Reflex tools. The RX driver itself is not normally converted.
