The .s6bn file extension is associated with Microsoft Word 6 for Mac, a word-processing application from Microsoft. The file stores a Word template rather than an ordinary document.
A template can contain reusable text, page layout, formatting, and other document settings for creating new documents in Word 6 for Mac. The format is obsolete and is no longer in common use.
Word 6 for Mac was designed for classic Macintosh systems. Current versions of Microsoft Word for Mac running on macOS may not support this legacy format directly.
Open the file with Microsoft Word 6 for Mac on a compatible classic Macintosh system, then use it as a template from within Word. Current Microsoft Word for Mac may not recognize the file.
If the file does not open, a legacy Macintosh environment or an existing copy of Word 6 for Mac may be required.
If Word 6 for Mac can open the template, create a document from it and save or export that document in a format supported by a newer word processor.
Preserve the original file before converting, because some layout or formatting may be lost when moving from this obsolete template format to a modern document format.
