The search-ms file extension is mainly related with Microsoft Windows indexing service that is included in the Windows NT, Windows 2000 and later Windows NT-family of operating systems that allows searching on PCs and corporate computer networks.
It is an operating system level service that maintains an index of most of the files on a computer and updates them without user intervention.
The *.search-ms file contains saved user's custom search criteria from Windows Explorer (later File Explorer). The saved search-ms file is stored in user's account Searches folder.
This file format is used from Microsoft Windows 7.
Text file in XML format, could be opened for example in Notepad.
Double click on *.search-ms file in the Searches folder. If you want to view content of the search-ms file use Notepad or any other text editing tool.
Possibly cannot be converted to other formats.
