File extension shd is used for the Microsoft Windows shadow spooler files. The print job’s spooled data is contained in a spool file. The shadow file includes some additional information used by the spooler, like job settings.
For each print job there are two spool files generated by the Windows® NT/2000 spooler. One file with the .SHD extension for job settings, and one with the .SPL extension for the drawing commands.
It is unlikely that you can open .shd files directly, it's not their purposes.
Unfortunately, we do not know about any possible way to convert .shd files, it may not even be possible.

Constructor is a computer game created by System 3 for MS-DOS, Windows and PlayStation.
Constructor shadow files contain the shadows cast by game objects, such as houses and subways. They are supporting game data files used by Constructor rather than standalone documents.
A Constructor shadow file is normally loaded automatically by the game. Install or run a compatible version of Constructor on its original supported platform, and keep the file in the game's data location.
The file is not intended to be opened as an image or edited with a general-purpose application.
Constructor shadow files do not have a practical standalone conversion option. They are game data used internally by Constructor, so they should be retained with the game rather than exported to another format.
