The shn file extension is generally used for Shorten audio files. Shorten is lossless format but larger than MP3.
It s a fast, low complexity waveform coder (i.e. audio compressor), originally written by Tony Robinson at SoftSound.
It can operate in both lossy and lossless modes.
You can playback SHN format using Winamp with Shnamp plugin installed or Xine media player.
Some audio converter support SHN format and can convert these audio files to other formats, for example MP3.
