Gallery Lock hidden media

Files with slm extension can be found as hidden files on SD cards of Android devices. These are files hidden using the Gallery Lock app for Android.
Found 2 different file type records with the same slm filename suffix.

File extension slm is nowadays mainly related to Gallery Lock, an app for Android that allows users to hide photos and other pictures on their smartphones.
The slm file represents somewhat altered version of the original "hidden" picture which is located in a hidden folder on the SD card in the following location:
/mnt/sdcard/.gallery_lock/
Basically, the 1024 bytes of data is added to the begging on the image (*.jpg in most cases) and the extension is renamed to slm.
You can most likely recover these files only if you enable it using Gallary Lock.
No easy way how to convert SLM back to JPEG is not know to us.

The slm file extension is associated with the Second Life, a life simulation on-line computer game for Microsoft Windows operating system.
The slm file stores mesh assets used to visualize 3D models in Second Life.
Probably not meant to be accessed by the user.
Probably cannot be converted to anything else.
