TFMX is a tracker-style music format for the Commodore Amiga. Its music is based on patterns and macros rather than being stored as a conventional digital audio recording.
The TFMX system includes a music routine by Chris Huelsbeck and seven voice routines by Jochen Hippel. Peter Thierolf created the TFMX editor used to produce this type of music file.
On Microsoft Windows, Amiga Forever provides an Amiga environment that can be used to play compatible TFMX files.
On Microsoft Windows, open the file with Amiga Forever. The file may need to be made available inside the emulated Amiga environment before an Amiga-compatible TFMX player can load it.
If the file came with other TFMX-related files, keep them together when transferring or opening the music.
TFMX files are music modules, not ordinary recorded-audio files, so general audio converters may not support them directly.
To create a WAV or MP3 version, play the file in an Amiga-compatible environment such as Amiga Forever and record the audio output. This produces a recording of the playback rather than a direct structural conversion of the TFMX file.
