Apple QuickTime movie or JPEG picture file
File type: Digital video and movie file
A .tvod file is a legacy Apple QuickTime file that contains either a QuickTime movie or a JPEG picture.
The extension is associated with Apple QuickTime Pro 3.0 and its MoviePlayer component.
File type category:
Digital video and movie file

Apple QuickTime used the .tvod file extension for files containing movie data or a picture encoded in JPEG format. The extension is associated specifically with the MoviePlayer component of QuickTime Pro 3.0.
QuickTime was available for Microsoft Windows as well as Apple's platforms, but Apple discontinued QuickTime for Windows. The .tvod format is therefore a legacy format and is unlikely to be supported by current media applications.
On Windows, try opening the file with the legacy version of Apple QuickTime associated with it, if that software is already installed. QuickTime for Windows is discontinued and should not be installed solely to open an unknown file.
If QuickTime does not recognize the file, current media players and image viewers may not support this obsolete extension. Do not assume that changing the extension will make the file usable.
If the file opens in QuickTime Pro, use its export or save options to create a more widely supported movie file or to save the picture in a current image format.
If legacy QuickTime cannot open the file, there is no reliable general conversion method for this obsolete format. Preserve the original file while testing any conversion.
