.ui files are used by various programs for saved user interface settings, including custom appearance, themes or skins. Many are plain-text or XML files, but the extension is not standardized.
In the Qt framework, a .ui file is an XML document used by Qt Designer to store a form's widgets, layout and properties. It is normally kept with the application's source files. Qt's user interface compiler can generate source code from such a form, or Qt can load it at run time.
Most of these files are XML based, thus they can be viewed or edited using any text editor. ActiveState Komodo Professional can also be used to inspect or edit the XML text.
For Qt interface forms, open the file in Qt Designer from the Qt SDK to view and edit the form visually.
It is highly unlikely that you can convert general .ui files to anything else.
For a Qt interface form, Qt's user interface compiler can generate source code for inclusion in a Qt application, or the application can load the form at run time. This is not a general-purpose conversion for other .ui files.
