File extension viv is mainly related to the VivoActive streaming video format that was once used by RealNetworks but eventually discontinued. VivoActive products are still offered "as is."
No development efforts have been made on VivoActive products since 1997 and RealNetworks has no plans to develop them further. VivoActive products have known incompatibilities with browser versions developed since 1997.

The viv file extension is also used for a special multimedia video files used on original Sony Playstation console.
These files contain in-game video and are in a proprietary PlayStation format that cannot be opened on PCs or Macs.

The viv file extension was also used for notation scores in old Vivaldi Studio music notation software. It looks like that both the program and these files are largely obsolete and not even supported in modern programs.
Except for the original software, we have no information about any other software capable of opening Vivaldi music notations.
