Microsoft Virtual PC was virtualization software from Microsoft. The VTPF file extension is associated with the Mac edition of Virtual PC and identifies files that preserve application preferences and configuration settings.
A VTPF file is a supporting file for Virtual PC, rather than a virtual hard disk or other virtual machine storage file. Virtual PC for Mac and this preference format are legacy; the software is no longer developed.
VTPF files are intended to be read automatically by the compatible version of Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac. Open the file on a Mac with that software installed, or place it back in its original Virtual PC preferences location.
Because Virtual PC for Mac is discontinued, current macOS versions may not run it. A VTPF file is not normally useful as a standalone document and should not be edited manually.
A VTPF file does not have a meaningful standalone conversion format. Its contents are application preferences, so they can be reused through a compatible version of Microsoft Virtual PC.
If the settings are needed in another virtualization program, recreate them in that program rather than converting the VTPF file.
