The WPRD file extension is associated with older versions of Microsoft's Word for Mac word processor. These versions ran on Apple's Mac operating systems and used WPRD files for print-related data.
A WPRD file is not a normal Word document. It represents data prepared for printing and may not contain the complete editable text, formatting, and other content of the original document.
WPRD is a legacy format and is not normally created by current versions of Microsoft Word for macOS. The original Word document is the best source for editing or reprinting its contents.
Open a WPRD file with the older version of Microsoft Word for Mac that created it, if that software is available. Current Word for Mac may not recognize this legacy print-file format.
Because the file contains print-related data rather than a standard editable document, it may not open as a normal document even in compatible Word software.
WPRD files are not standard editable Word documents, so a direct conversion to a modern Word format may not be available. If the original document is available, open it in Word for Mac and save or export it in a current format instead.
If only the WPRD file remains, try using the original Word environment to open or print it. Renaming the file does not convert it.
