The Integrated Microcomputer Processing System (IMPS) is a system for processing survey and census data. It supports tasks such as data entry, data editing, tabulation, data dissemination, statistical analysis and data-capture control.
An .xts file contains data used by IMPS. It is one of the system's default file types, and its role may depend on the IMPS module that created or uses it.
IMPS is legacy software designed for microcomputer-based data processing. The format is therefore mainly encountered in older IMPS projects and may not be supported by current general-purpose applications.
Open an .xts file with the Integrated Microcomputer Processing System (IMPS), using the IMPS module associated with the file. General-purpose text editors and spreadsheet applications are not expected to interpret the file correctly.
Because IMPS is legacy software, it may require an older compatible computing environment to run.
There is no known standalone converter for the IMPS .xts file format.
If the file can be opened in IMPS, use the relevant IMPS module to export or tabulate the data in a format supported by that module. Keep the original file because the available export options depend on the IMPS workflow.
