YGen file
File type: Various data file
A YGN file is a file used by YGen, a text editor and compiler for Microsoft Windows.
File type category:
Various data file
Date updated: September 27, 2026
YGN files belong to the YGen software, which combines text-editing and compiling functions. The format is associated with files created or used by that application.
YGen is legacy software and was replaced by YGen 2. The YGN format is therefore primarily relevant to older YGen projects or files.
On Microsoft Windows, open a YGN file with YGen, the software associated with the format. Because YGen is legacy software, it may need to be installed separately.
YGen 2 replaced the original application, but compatibility with older YGN files should be verified in that program.
Use YGen's own save or export functions, if available, to create a file in another format.
