The zbd file extension is associated with Canon ZoomBrowser, Windows software from Canon for managing digital photos.
A zbd file contains database information for ZoomBrowser. It belongs to the software's data set and is used to keep track of the photos managed by the application rather than to store the photos as ordinary image files.
ZoomBrowser is legacy Microsoft Windows software, so this format is mainly encountered in older photo collections and installations. The file is intended to be handled by ZoomBrowser and should not be edited manually.
Open a zbd file with Canon ZoomBrowser on Microsoft Windows. Normally, start ZoomBrowser and let it use the file as part of its database instead of opening the file as a standalone document.
A general-purpose text editor or image viewer cannot display the database contents correctly. Keep the file with the other ZoomBrowser data files if the application needs to access its photo database.
A zbd file is an application database, not a document format with a useful general-purpose conversion.
To preserve the useful content, use ZoomBrowser to access the cataloged photos and save or export those photos in ordinary image formats. This does not convert the zbd file itself.
