The zlx file extension is associated with ZoneAlarm, a personal firewall software, originally created by Zone Labs and currently developed by CheckPoint Software Technologies LTD.
One of ZoneAlarm features is MailSafe, which detects e-mail attachments and warns the user about their presence. When a potentially dangerous attachment is detected, the program quarantines the file with simple renaming of its original file extension, so it breaks the common program association function in Windows and prevents such files from being executed (or launched via associated program).
A file with zlx file extension originally had WSF file extension (Windows scripting file). Simple renaming will restore the Windows associations with such file, however it is not advised, unless you are absolutely sure it safe to do.
You can rename the ZLX file extension back to WSF and work with the file normally. This can however be potentially dangerous, because the file was quarantined for a reason. So always re-check it with your anti-virus or anti-spyware programs before you rename the files.
Probably cannot be converted to other formats.

The ZLX file extension belongs to Atlantis Word Processor, a word-processing application for Microsoft Windows. ZLX files store various data used internally by the application.
A ZLX file is not intended to be a regular user document or an interchange format. Its contents support the operation of Atlantis Word Processor and are normally managed by the software itself.
Open a ZLX file with Atlantis Word Processor on Microsoft Windows. Because the file contains internal application data, it may not provide a user-editable document when opened directly.
If Atlantis Word Processor does not recognise the file in its normal interface, it should be left in the location where the application created it.
ZLX files are internal Atlantis Word Processor data and do not have a useful general-purpose conversion path.
Open the related document in Atlantis Word Processor and use the program's document-saving or export options instead. Converting the ZLX file itself is not recommended.
