GEOM file extension - AVS Application Visualization System data

What is geom file? How to open geom files?

File type specification:

Various data file type icon Various data file type

The geom file extension is used by the AVS commercial high-end visualization environment.

The geom file contains low level geometric primitives, points, lines, facets, etc. These files consist of a number of lines of printable ASCII characters, the first string in each line is the primitive ID.

This geom file type entry was marked as obsolete and no longer supported file format.

This type of file is no longer actively used and is most likely obsolete. This is typically the case for system files in old operating systems, file types from long discontinued software, or previous versions of certain file types (like documents, projects etc.) that were replaced in higher versions of their original programs.

Help how to open:

As far as we know, this type of *.geom files is only used in AVS.

How to convert:

We do not know about any possible way how you can export or convert geom files to anything else.
