LED file extension - Sony AIBO LED lights control data

What is led file? How to open led files?

File extension led seems to be related to AIBO, an iconic series of robotic pets designed and manufactured by Sony.

These led files control the eye/tail/back/etc. lights on Sony AIBO robo dog.

The files are formatted as MIDI files. Instead of sound however, the key/pitch values correspond to individual LED's.

The volume corresponds to LED brightness. As proof, try renaming any led file to midi and playing it in Windows Media Player.

This led file type entry was marked as obsolete and no longer supported file format.

This type of file is no longer actively used and is most likely obsolete. This is typically the case for system files in old operating systems, file types from long discontinued software, or previous versions of certain file types (like documents, projects etc.) that were replaced in higher versions of their original programs.
