QSD file extension - Quicken data

The qsd file extension is associated with Quicken, a personal finance management tool developed by Intuit, Inc, which is available in both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X versions.

The qsd files are supporting files used by Quicken. They contains on-line banking information associated with a Quicken account.

Quicken stores financial data in five separate files, similar to your word processing or spreadsheet files. Quicken's data file is the electronic equivalent of the filing cabinet, drawers, and paper folders you use to store your checking account and credit card statements.

The basis of the group is the file with the qdf file extension. It contains account information and transactions. In the folder with the qdf file, you'll also find files with the same filename but different file extensions: qel, qph, qsd and *.qtx.

Quicken updates these other files behind the scenes, and there's no need to worry about what they do. In fact, you could even delete these additional files, only to find that the program recreates them the next time you open the qdf file.

The latest version of Quicken does no longer use these files, and the supporting files have been incorporated into a single Quicken data file with the qdf file extension.

This qsd file type entry was marked as obsolete and no longer supported file format.

This type of file is no longer actively used and is most likely obsolete. This is typically the case for system files in old operating systems, file types from long discontinued software, or previous versions of certain file types (like documents, projects etc.) that were replaced in higher versions of their original programs.
