What is rmf file? How to open rmf files?
File type specification:
The RMF file extension is associated with Beatnik and used for its proprietary Beatnik Rich Music Format.
This format was mainly used for playing MIDI music simultaneously with digitally recorded audio samples, which made the format useful for creating polyphonic ringtones, interactive game audio and user alert tones.
It is a wrapper for audio formats including .wav, .au, .aiff, .mp3 and MIDI. RMF's purpose is to encrypt the data, and to store MIDI together with instrument sounds. RMF is not widely used as of 2009, but is noteworthy from the fact that the reference implementation of the Java Media Framework and JavaSound can play RMF files.
It seems that Beatnik is no longer available program.
This format is not related in any way to Beatnik programming language.
